This day trip takes to Mount Rigi. Known as the queen of mountains, it offers a lot to see and do and is a popular excursion destination for tourists and locals alike.

We depart between 8 - 9 AM from Zurich central station where we travel by train to the base station of the Rigi Railways.
A breathtaking journey to the top on the oldest Mountain Railways in Europe awaits you. We arrive at approx. 11 AM on top of the mountain.

On a clear day, you have the best panoramic views for up here. On a day with fog or low clouds, you will be a literally over the clouds. An impressive view.

We have a lot of time to spend at this beautiful place, approx. 4 hours before we descend on a different route so you can see even more of this beautiful part of Switzerland. We take an aerial cable car bringing us to Weggis. From there we take a 50-minutes relaxing boat ride on Lake Lucerne that will bring us back to Lucerne.

Of course, there is time to visit the famous Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge) the Landmark of the city of Lucerne on our way back.

After that, we retake a direct train to Zurich.
